After months of rumors, it has finally been confirmed that Joy Woods and Jordan Tyson will be playing the roles of Louise and June in the upcoming Broadway revival of Gypsy!
Audra McDonald is leading the production as Mama Rose alongside fellow Tony winner Danny Burstein as Herbie.
Joy and Jordan currently are starring together in the musical The Notebook as Middle Allie and Younger Allie, respectively. They’ll continue to work together after leaving that show next month!
The song “My Days” from The Notebook, expertly performed by Joy, went viral on social media this year.
Gypsy, one of the most acclaimed musicals of all time, will reopen the Majestic Theatre following the exit of The Phantom of the Opera, which played in the venue for 35 years. Preview performances begin on November 21 ahead of an official opening night on December 19.
It was also just announced that the cast will include Lesli Margherita as Tessie Tura, Lili Thomas as Miss Mazeppa, and Mylinda Hull as Miss Electra. Full casting will be announced shortly.
