Mike Tyson Shares Intense Training Regimen for Jake Paul Fight

Mike Tyson's highly anticipated boxing match with Jake Paul is quickly approaching, and the heavyweight champ has spent much of the past year training hard for his return to the ring.

In a Sept. 23 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Tyson broke down what a typical day looks like for him these days in the lead-up to his Nov. 15 bout.

"I'm training extremely hard," he said. "I start at 11 [a.m.] and I might leave the gym at 5 [p.m.]." He acknowledged he takes a "small break" during the day and varies the kinds of workouts he does throughout the six-hour span. "After I finish doing my boxing, I get a massage for an hour, and then I go right into strength and conditioning," he said.

Tyson is a known cannabis lover who has spoken about the plant's role in his training before, but he revealed earlier this year that he'd given up smoking and sex to have a better focus on training for the fight. When Kimmel asked him about his consumption now, Tyson answered that he's indulged, "but not any time [recently]."

Kimmel asked if he planned to be high for the Paul fight, the champ quipped "I'm going to be so high off life" as the audience cheered. When Kimmel tried to clarify if he'd be high on marijuana, Tyson confessed "That's a possibility too."

Cannabis isn't the only drug that's played a role in his preparation for the match. When speaking with Jake Paul's brother Logan on the Impaulsive podcast last month, Tyson confessed that psilocybin mushrooms have been a great help for his gym sessions

"I have to take them when I train," he said. "I always train with my mushrooms."

"I train on mushrooms because I feel beautiful. It takes me to heaven, baby," he added.

Time will tell just how well Iron Mike's training will pay off. The big fight streams Nov. 15 on Netflix.
