Ohio Lottery player wins millions after buying $2 ticket in Obetz

OBETZ, Ohio (WCMH) —  A trip to an Obetz gas station has bestowed a lifetime of riches on one Ohio Lottery player after winning the top prize worth millions.

In a press release, lottery officials announced that on Sept. 23, 2024, one ticket holder matched all six numbers in the Lucky for Life drawing which promises $1,000 a day for life. The ticket was sold at Obetz Shell, located at 4425 Alum Creek Drive in Columbus.

The winning numbers on the multi-state draw game were 1-21-24-27-48, and the Lucky Ball was 18. The individual who purchased the $2 manual pick ticket can take money as an annuity, totaling $365,000 annually, or a one-time cash prize of $5,750,000.

Drawings on Lucky for Life are held seven days a week and the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 30,821,472, according to the Ohio Lottery. The lottery states that for prizes over $5,000 winners must present their ticket to an Ohio Lottery office for validation and check processing as well as validate and cash their winning ticket within 180 days of the drawing date.
