Most of those were Broughs or Harley-Davidsons with full provenance from recognized collectors, but prices for Vincents have leapt ever higher as well. For instance, a 1938 Series A Rapide brought $417,000 at the Bonhams Stafford Spring Motorcycle Sale in April, and a 1950 White Shadow sold for $224,500 at last January’s Bonhams Las Vegas Auction. But even those sales fell short of the winning bid cast for this extremely rare, Chinese Red, 1951 Vincent White Shadow, which crossed the block for $434,000 at the Bonhams Las Vegas Auction on January 7, ranking this bike as the ninth highest-selling motorcycle of all time.
