Gov. Stitt undergoes surgery for "significant blockage" in main artery

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Governor Kevin Stitt underwent surgery Friday after doctors found a significant blockage in a main artery.

Stitt underwent intravenous surgery on Friday, requiring the doctors to repair the blockage with a stent.

Abegail Cave, Director of Communications for Governor Stitt, released the following statement:

Governor Stitt is doing well and has returned to the office.

He wants to encourage all Oklahomans to ensure they are getting regular check ups and to make sure they are eating healthy and exercising. He also wants to give a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South for their great care and expertise.
