Did Donna Kelce Just Neg Taylor Swift?

Travis Kelce reportedly wants to be as famous as the Rock. That involves becoming an actor, and the football star has started to make his big Hollywood moves. He has a supporting role as a nurse in the latest Ryan Murphy series, Grotesquerie, and while everyone around him seems to be very supportive, someone needed to keep him (and Taylor Swift) humble. Enter his mother, Donna.

Earlier this week at the New York premiere of the show, Mama Kelce was badgered with questions about her son’s girlfriend. It’s hard to get a read on how she feels about Swift, but this was probably my favorite answer she gave:

Imagine you’ve been dating someone for over a year, you’ve met their mom several times, and when she’s asked what she likes about you, she says, “Yeah, I don’t really … You know, it’s still new.” Can you still go into witness protection if you witnessed your own murder?

Elsewhere on the carpet, Donna spoke in the way only a mother can about her son’s acting aspirations.

“I know he wanted to do this, and I know he can manifest things,” she said. “He has no fear of trying things, and he has no fear of failure.” Okay, that’s sweet. That’s the kind of thing you’d want to hear your mom say about you. What else did she say?

“You know, sometimes parents want to fix things for their kids,” she continued. “But sometimes it’s better to just let them fail. You learn the most from things you don’t do well. Hopefully, if this is something he wants to do, he’ll get better at it.”

What the hell, Donna? Hilariously, she had not even seen the show yet. She just had some sort of instinct about his performance, I guess. A mother knows!

Forget Travis’s Hollywood turn — we need to get Donna onscreen. She could be like a midwestern Joan Rivers or something. Make her Drew Barrymore’s sidekick. Add a chair to the View table. She’s quickly becoming the most interesting member of the Kelce family. Hopefully the bigwigs are taking note.
