Serena Williams’ Daughter Olympia Shows off Her Athletic Skills in a Stunning New Picture
With the GOAT as her mom, Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia was sure to inherit some athletic genes. Now, a new photo of the 7-year-old shows off Olympia’s latest athletic skill, and we are totally impressed!
In a new picture on Olympia’s Instagram, the cute kid is dressed in a white t-shirt and gray leggings as she runs down a track. She has a huge smile on her face as she swings her arms and stretches her legs along the track, looking like she belongs there!
“@ATHLOS ERA,” the picture was captioned, referencing her dad Alexis Ohanian’s inaugural Athlos New York City women-only track meet this week, where top track and field athletes competed for $60,000 top prizes and $25,000 runner-up awards.
The first-class event was all about taking track and field competitions to the next level. “It’s never about charity or altruism,” Ohanian said about the event, per The Washington Post. “It is capitalism. We want to do that because we want to win.”
“This is the chicken-and-egg problem the sport has always had,” he continued. “The reason why these athletes get paid so little is because the dollars are not there from brands and sponsors. Why aren’t the brand dollars there? Because you don’t have the events that feel like they have the gravitas.”
On Sept. 23, Ohanian revealed that part of his inspiration for the event was creating a world that would benefit Olympia in the future. “We were watching the final of the World Cup in 2019 from our rented house in Wimbledon,” Ohanian recalled at ADWEEK’s Brandweek conference, per PEOPLE. “Olympia was running around in her Alex Morgan jersey, and I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if she played on a national team one day?'”
“And Serena was like, ‘Not until they pay her what she’s worth.’ And I was like, ‘Touché, okay, challenge accepted,’” the Reddit co-founder, who shares Olympia and Adira, 1, with Williams, continued. “And that’s what motivated me to buy a team and help be a part of the change.”
In the comments of Olympia’s photo, people praised the little girl, who also enjoys playing soccer, golf, and tennis. “She definitely has an athletic physique like her mama. ❤️????????” one person commented. “Okay but her form is ????” another praised.
“The face may be saying Alexis, but the body is all Serena’s,” another person wrote. “Her physique is an imprint of her mama’s. She can pick a sport…any sport…& she’ll be good at it. There’s a reason her mama called her Olympia!”
