What is so attractive about this oddly arranged 2BHK Mumbai apartment rented for Rs 1.35 lakh?

New Delhi: The real estate scene in Mumbai is very different from many other metro cities of India. Mumbai adopted the apartment style a long time back. Now, the scenario has changed to luxury and ultra-luxury apartments. People are willing to get their hands on one even if it means lesser space, or compact apartments as they are more famously called.

To purchase and own one is a big thing, and so is getting a one luxury 2BHK compact apartment on rent, that too in a posh locality of the city. And you can be sure of a high cost or rent as the case might be.

Something on these lines happened in Mumbai when an oddly setup luxury 2BHK apartment was taken on a huge rent of Rs 1.35 lakh per month along with a security deposit of Rs 4 lakh, leaving netizens dumbfounded.

A post has been shared on X by Utkarsh Gupta @PaneerMakkhani with the caption: “Only in Mumbai, you can front load your washing machine while top loading your commode. At an affordable price of 1.35L per month!”

The oddity is in the placing of household objects and items. For e.g. the washing machine is installed directly above the toilet seat.

The apartment is located in the swanky, chic Pali Hill area.

The post has received many responses. Sharing a few with you here.

Narayan Mahadevan @tmnarayan: Hahaha , Amchi Mumbai is unbeatable.Tenant can have a tumble bath too, instead of a Tub bath.

Utkarsh Gupta @PaneerMakkhani: Please don’t give them new ideas sir

Navinder Narang @navinder_narang: But what if the used water from the washing machine is fed to the commode? I think it’s a brilliant idea! #toiletinnovation

Utkarsh Gupta @PaneerMakkhani: That is definitely a brilliant idea. But even for that you don’t need to fit the washing machine in the wall above the commode. There are better ways of doing it.

Sunil Sane @SunilSane2: So if you look from outside there’s protruding metal box with washer just like the window air conditioner ! I hope they haven’t weakened the structural strength of the building.

Utkarsh Gupta @PaneerMakkhani: Most builders and architects don’t think too much about structural strength and aesthetics in Mumbai. It should just work somehow for a few years

Dhiraj Sharma @dhirajs1010: Going forward Corporate Company  can arrange commodes instead of chairs for staffs to release the pressure.

Utkarsh Gupta @PaneerMakkhani: I’d sign the petition asking for this change

Ashish Merchant @AshishMerchant9: This brilliant idea being already taken by the ever resourceful Builders All ready to be Launched
