Mumbai: In a good news for the Ambani family, a prestigious Japanese magazine Madame Figaro has included Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in its list of the world’s finest cultural hubs. Located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex of Mumbai, the Ambani’s NMACC is designed in the shape of a lotus, reflecting the essence of Indian culture.

For the first time in Indian history, an Indian cultural center has gained international recognition. Being one of the largest arts centers in India, the NMACC is designed in the shape of a lotus, symbolizing Indian culture. The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is a first-of-its-kind, multi-disciplinary cultural space in the sphere of arts.

Comment from Japanese magazine

The Japanese magazine Madame Figaro writes: “Established by Nita Mukesh Ambani in 2023, with a vision to bring the world’s best art to India and take India’s best art to the world, NMACC is transforming the country’s art landscape.”

The centre provides an eclectic mix of cultural endeavours in its various performance spaces and art showcases. It offers a platform for Indian artists to display their artwork, holds performances of traditional music and dance, puts on Broadway-style shows, and hosts theatrical spectacles. By acting as a hotspot for innovation and self-expression, NMACC is actively transforming the landscape of Indian art and culture.

The Cultural Centre has three dedicated spaces for performing arts, the 2000-seat Grand Theatre, the 250-seat Studio Theatre, and the 125-seat Cube. They’re all equipped with cutting-edge technology to cater to a wide range of experiences, from intimate screenings and stimulating conversations to multilingual programming and international theatrical productions. The Cultural Centre also has a dedicated visual arts space – the Art House – overlooking the Fountain of Joy. Complementing the artistically rich spaces is a dining experience that includes a concession area, an Arts Café, a brand-new restaurant by the Oberoi group and one of India’s most awarded restaurants, Indian Accent.
