Stunning Brookside star has barely aged 21 years after quitting soap and new career away from TV
A STUNNING Brookside actress has barely aged despite two decades passing since her stellar soap role.
The Channel 4 star, 45 – who also featured in adverts for Halifax bank during her acting career – now has a very normal job.
Tiffany Eglin, formerly Tiffany Chapman, played Brookside‘s Rachel Jordache.
The brunette actress, who kept her locks in a shoulder-length style, enjoyed two stints on the soap, firstly between 1993 and 1996 then returning in 1997 for six years.
She starred in Emmerdale prior to finding fame in Brookside, with her character suffering a difficult family life and arriving on the show in a safehouse facility.
She was abused by her father Trevor and barely saw her mum Mandy – with her sister Beth also passing away in prison.
Yet Trevor, played by Bryan Murray, eventually died at the hands of Mandy, who proceeded to bury him under the patio.
Her character went on to marry Mike Dixon and have a baby, and she left the soap in 2003 when it came to an end.
Later in her career, Tiffany took on a role in rival soap Hollyoaks in 2007, and has also starred in Doctors.
Back in 2016 she changed tack, opting to play a Halifax bank teller in an advert for the company.
She starred alongside cartoon Top Cat who arrived in-branch begging for money.
Now, Tiffany has shunned small screen fame for a completely different career.
She works as a dental receptionist at the Apollonia House Dental and Healthcare facility in Oldham – yet looks completely the same.
Her profile picture on the company’s website shows her side-profile, flashing a beaming smile.
Another Instagram snap, taken to celebrate her Brookside co star Vince Earl’s 80th birthday sees her fresh-faced glow.
She has kept her brunette locks a similar length, wearing her hair in a half-up style, and vamped her look with thick black eye make-up.
Darkest soap storylines
Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock…
Off-screen, Tiffany married husband Jonathan Eglin in 2002.
The couple announced their engagement in 2001 with a magazine shoot.
Tiffany is also the daughter of former footballer Les Chapman, 75, a former football player and manager.
It came after we reported how Tiffany’s former co-star Helen Grace looked unrecognisable from her screen role in a new CBBC show.
Additionally, their former Brookside colleague Louis Emerick recently clapped back at criticism directed towards soaps, suggesting there was a “stigma” and snobbery around the shows.
