Huge Brit pop star raked in eye-watering £137k a DAY last year – before performing a single gig
THE beers are on Ed Sheeran after he enjoyed an eye-watering £50million turnover last year – before performing a single gig.
The superstar’s music firm lodged its profits at Companies House yesterday, with documents showing that Ed Sheeran Limited – which deals with earnings from the writing, recording and production of music – netted £137,000 A DAY.
Superstar Ed Sheeran netted £137,000 a day last year[/caption]Ed pocketed £14million for himself following the release of two No1 albums: Subtract in May 2023 and Autumn Variations a few months later.
The figures cover the 12 months up to December 31, 2023, but do not include earnings from any of his live shows.
He is expected to lodge those separately in the coming months.
In 2022 he had a tour turnover of £145million, so he can expect another bumper pay day before the end of the year.
Ed, who has a net worth of £340million, has continued on his hugely lucrative Mathematics world tour, and just this week has been making more dosh from it.
He has released a box set called +-=÷× (Tour Collection) which is on course to become his eighth Top Ten album this Friday.
Ed is on a break from his tour before it kicks off again next May and I’m sure that the time off means one thing – there’s new music on the way.
That boy never stops.
But it is certainly paying off for him.
Kylie ever so smiley
Kylie Minogue on a night out in London after shifting thousands of tickets for her upcoming tour[/caption]KYLIE MINOGUE was grinning from ear to ear on a night out in London after shifting hundreds of thousands of tickets for her upcoming tour.
She will hit the road for her Tension Tour next summer – and nine of her arena shows have already sold out after tickets went on sale on Friday.
Kylie, who looked radiant in this dress on Sunday evening, yesterday announced three extra shows in London, Birmingham and Glasgow to meet demand.
The news comes a fortnight before her album Tension II – which is a sequel to last year’s No1 album Tension – will be released.
If she can top the charts yet again, she will have a good reason to keep on beaming.
Liam's help for sick
LIAM PAYNE may be taking a break from the spotlight but he’s still putting his fame and fortune to good use.
The Strip That Down singer has been quietly spending his evenings helping the GoFundMe pages of sick children in America reach their fundraising goals.
The kids all need life-saving operations – which they have to pay for in the US – with some battling cancer, while one is a victim of a school shooting.
Liam says that being a dad to son Bear, who he shares with former partner Cheryl, means he can’t just sit back and not help.
The former One Direction singer said on Snapchat: “As a father, it hits me differently. I would want everyone in the world helping.
“I have been spending the last few nights trying to finish off the donations so they can get the operations they need. They would be free in my country.
“I can’t look at a sick child and not see Bear. I can’t and I won’t.
“I’m not asking for people to say well done or I’m amazing – I don’t give a f*** about what people think of me.
“What I care about is that that child gets to live the life it’s supposed to.”
Good on him.
Cardi’s a cut above
CARDI B is continuing to make jaws drop at Paris Fashion Week, just three weeks after giving birth to her third baby.
The rapper looked incredible in this silver cut-out dress at a party thrown by fashion site FWRD on Sunday night.
She was positively beaming, despite a recent online spat with her ex-husband, rapper Offset, who claimed she had sex with another man while she was pregnant with his child.
Given he is back in the US, I can see why she is making the most of her time far away from him in France.
Marina and the shrooms
MARINA DIAMANDIS says taking magic mushrooms has been a “game changer” in her battle with chronic fatigue syndrome.
The singer, who previously performed under the name Marina & The Diamonds, opened up last year about the condition, also known as ME, saying it left her feeling like she had been “poisoned”.
But she now feels in a much better place after “proper trips” on the hallucinogenic fungi, which contain compound psilocybin. She told the Chronic Comeback podcast: “I started to do psilocybin trips with the intention of finding out ways to heal.”
But Marina, who is expected to release a new album next year, said that she won’t be rushing back to the drug.
She added: “I’ve done about five [trips] in the past six months and they have been game changers.
“I had an instinct that I needed to continue and the instinct was right. Now I’m done for a long time.”
Nicole’s a stage fright
Nicole Scherzinger put on a bloody good show as she greeted fans[/caption]NICOLE SCHERZINGER put on a bloody good show as she greeted fans after kicking off the Broadway run of musical Sunset Boulevard.
The Pussycat Dolls star got rave reviews when she played the lead role of Norma Desmond in London last year, but she has taken it up another level in New York.
She got two standing ovations and brought audience members to tears in just the first half of one performance at the weekend.
Way to go, Nic.
Jade's big plans for vid shoot
JADE THIRLWALL is jetting to Los Angeles to shoot the big-budget music video for her second solo single, out in a few weeks.
I’m told the former Little Mix singer will work with top director David LaChapelle, who has taken charge of some of pop’s most iconic clips.
David was the mastermind behind Christina Aguilera’s racy video for Dirrty and Britney Spears’ Everytime – but this will be his first video in almost a decade.
A source said: “Jade is working flat out but still can’t believe her luck that David has agreed to head up her next video.
“She will fly to LA this week and then the video will be filmed over four consecutive days.
“They both have big plans for what they want to achieve.
“Like with her debut Angel Of My Dreams, Jade has full-on choreography planned.”
AFTER scoring their third Top Ten album with People Like Me & You last summer, The Sherlocks are wasting no time bringing out new music.
The Brit rockers have cut record Everything Must Make Sense, which can be pre-ordered now before its release on February 21.
COMIC JASON MANFORD is a member of the mile high club. Asked whether he had ever got down and dirty on a plane, he told pal Alan Carr‘s Life’s A Beach podcast: “Yes. I’m not giving you any more details. Twenty years ago now.” He’s a dark horse.
