Dejan Kulusevski says Spurs are playing so well for one simple reason

After a slow start to the season, Spurs are flying. Their latest win, a 3-0 demolition job over Manchester United, has set the benchmark for the season, and Dejan Kulusevski reveals how the squad are feeling right now.

Spurs have got the winning feeling

That’s now four wins in a row for Ange Postecoglou‘s side, including back-to-back Premier League victories, progress in the Carabao Cup, and a great start to their Europa League campaign.

The nature of Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Manchester United, though, was extraordinary, and by far the best performance from this Tottenham team for quite some time.

Relentless and clinical in attack, solid and organised at the back, and full of confidence, the Lilywhites destroyed Erik ten Hag’s side thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke.

Speaking to the press after the game (via Football.London), Kulusevski explained the mood among the squad at the moment and how this run they are on is breeding more and more confidence going forward.

He said: “That’s how we need to play. Our season started now. Four wins in a row, the feeling is very good. A lot of happy players and it’s showing on the pitch.”

October could be a good month for Spurs

Tottenham have now emerged from a pretty tricky run of games relatively unscathed. Looking at the fixture list, facing Newcastle, Arsenal, and United in the month of September was always going to be difficult, but Postecoglou’s team now appear to have hit their stride.

Looking ahead, with Spurs playing so well, the system working, and certain players on a hot streak, there’s no reason they can’t push on and put together a strong run in October.

Brighton, West Ham, and Palace await in the league, which are all winnable games. The Europa League ties against Ferencvaros and AZ Alkmaar should not be too daunting. And the Carabao Cup clash with City at the end of the month may well be an odd encounter, given Pep Guardiola’s desire to field a weakened team.

The sky’s the limit for Spurs

We saw last season just how good Tottenham can be under Postecoglou, and that was in the early days of his tenure. Now that the players are far more in tune with what he wants, there’s no reason Spurs can’t go to the next level this season.

If we can get a decent run going in October, the confidence levels will be incredibly high, and this is a young team that clearly thrives on that feeling.

Postecoglou is always talking about not wanting to limit expectations here, and it’s exciting to think about what Spurs could achieve in the near future.
