‘The Masked Singer’ is ready to cut loose, ‘Footloose’ on Wednesday

Tune in to “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday for the first theme night of season 12: a salute to the classic movie “Footloose.” Judge Robin Thicke is set to kick the show off in style, singing the Oscar-nominated title track. Later on in the hour, as you’ll see from the preview above, “Footloose” star Kevin Bacon makes an appearance.

The four remaining contestants from Group A — Buffalo, Ship, Showbird and Woodpecker — are set to take to the stage to perform tunes from this chart-topping soundtrack. Among the songs that they could sing are a trio of Top 10 hits first heard in the movie: “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” by Deniece Williams; “Almost Paradise” by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson, and “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler. Other possible tracks include “Somebody’s Eyes” by Karla Bonoff  and “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man)” by Kenny Loggins, who was the first to sing “Footloose.”

At the end of their four performances, the studio audience will vote and one of the celebrities will be unmasked. If you can’t wait till then to find out who they are, be sure to check out the spoilers below.

Last week, Leaf Sheep lost the vote and was revealed to be football great John Elway. Still to come in season 12 are Bluebell, Chess Piece, Dust Bunny, Goo, Ice King, Macaron, Royal Knight, Sherlock Hound, Strawberry Shortcake, and Wasp.
