In a statement posted on Instagram the group confirmed it has scrapped the dynamic pricing which caused chaos in the UK as hundreds of thousands of people scrambled to get their hands on tickets.

Dynamic pricing raises the price during times of high demand, meaning some people ended up paying more than £200 more than face value.

A message from Noel and Liam Gallagher‘s management read: “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.

“We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently.”

But the news did not go down well with some followers.

One wrote: “Cool – so where’s the refund of the extortion charged for the UK fans then?”

Another said: “Maybe refund the UK fans you ripped off?”

Someone else commented: “So not only have you failed to supply your UK based fans with enough tickets. You also decided to rip them off. Staggering!”

And a fourth added: “‘Mugging off the people that made us’ could be the next album title ???”

It comes after The Sun revealed Oasis are in talks to release an epic live album of their sell-out gigs.

A source said: “The Oasis reunion is an historic moment and these concerts will be talked about for decades to come. Many people around the brothers think they have to capture the shows.

“A live album of the Oasis reunion could be as iconic as The Who’s Live At Leeds in 1970 or Queen’s Live At Wembley ’86.

“It would capture the rock ’n’ roll alchemy that happens when Noel and Liam are on stage together.”

What is dynamic pricing?

The demand-based system was introduced by Ticketmaster in 2022.

It said it was brought in to stop touts and ensure more money goes to the artists.

Essentially, when there is a lot of demand for tickets, and limited supply, the price can go up.

Amid anger over Oasis’s ticket prices, the company said they do not set prices and shared a link to a website that said costs could be “fixed or market-based”.

On its own website, Ticketmaster describes its “Platinum” tickets as those that have their price adjusted according to supply and demand.

It says the goal of the dynamic pricing system is to “give fans fair and safe access to the tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value”.

The company claims it is artists, their teams, and promoters who set pricing and choose whether dynamic pricing is used for their shows.
