Man arrested over cannabis bust from February

A 51-year-old man was arrested on Monday night in connection with the finding of 3.2 kilograms of cannabis in February.

Two men, aged 40 and 28 years old, have already been arrested in connection with the same case.

The cannabis had been found on February 1 following a “coordinated police operation”.

Police pulled over a car being driven by the 28-year-old, with the 40-year-old in the passenger seat, and found two nylon packages containing the cannabis inside the car.

Both the 28-year-old and the 40-year-old were taken into custody, with the 28-year-old having been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for possession with the intent to supply in July.

The 40-year-old’s trial is ongoing.
