Terrifying footage shows him struggling with the powerful serpent as he stands in chest-deep water before narrowly escaping death.

In a desperate bid to save himself from being overpowered by the snake, the man sinks his teeth into the snake near its head.

This is happening while another man, presumably his friend, grabs the anaconda’s tail.

At the same time, a third man tries to uncoil the water boa from their wooden boat.

One of the men then grabs the snake by the neck as it is raised onto the boat in the terrifying scenes in Terra Santa on Sunday.

More than half a minute passes until the beast eventually gives up and unwraps itself from its would-be victim.

It is not known whether the man sustained injuries after grappling with the powerful snake.

Anaconda attacks are rare but can occur in the rivers and creeks of the Amazon jungle, where the reptiles typically live.

The anaconda, also called water boa, is one of the largest snakes in the world.

They can grow over 26ft long and can weigh more than 440lbs but are not venomous.

To kill their prey, they wrap their body around the animal and use their brute strength to squeeze it until it can no longer breathe, before swallowing them whole.

It comes just weeks after a fisherman in Malaysia was tragically killed in a horror crocodile attack while collecting his nets.

Brono Kamil Nahak was last seen heading towards the river to carry out his routine job.

When the 25-year-old failed to return, concerned colleagues went to search that evening.

However, they only found the victim’s T-shirt, shoes, cap, motorbike, and a ripped net at his fishing spot in Kinabatangan, Malaysia.

Suspecting he might have been attacked by a crocodile, they immediately informed the local fire department.

A search operation was then launched and the victim’s body was reportedly found less than a mile from where was apparently dragged into the water by the croc.

The fisherman’s body was handed over to the police to investigate his exact cause of death.
