Patriots Legend Drops Jets Zinger While Defending Tom Brady Comments

The NFL world debated Tom Brady's comments toward Baker Mayfield, and a New England Patriots legend found a way to get a snipe in at a franchise rival.

Mayfield last week commented how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers locker room felt "stressed out" playing for Brady. The former New England Patriots quarterback responded by saying that not winning Super Bowls was stressful to him.

The reactions to the discourse came like wildfire, especially on morning shows like ESPN's "Get Up" on Monday. Patriots Super Bowl Damien Woody defended Brady when he noted that his former teammate stressed the idea of getting "comfortable with being uncomfortable." Fellow New England legend Tedy Bruschi had a savage response when Woody said it was fine to be comfortable.

"Go play for the Jets," Bruschi said, per Awful Announcing.

Bruschi's jab caused a stir on the panel that included Jets fan Mike Greenberg and former New York head coach Rex Ryan. Woody, who finished his NFL career with the Jets, got out of his seat while Bruschi pumped his fist getting one over on everyone.

Another former Jet, Ryan Fitzpatrick, responded differently to Brady's comments. However, Mayfield played down the controversy and chose to move on.
