Millions warned over ‘blue screen of death’ Microsoft Windows flaw that freezes PCs on loop – how you can fix it

MICROSOFT have warned all users of the return of the “blue screen of death” that freezes PC’s on loop.

Following the recent update for Windows 11 that fixed numerous issues, a new problem stole the limelight.

The KB5043145 update was meant to fix glitches such as system freezes when using the Edge web browser.

It was also meant to introduce perks such as a sign-out command to the Start menu and the option to share local files through search results appearing on the taskbar.

However, Microsoft told all Windows 11 users their systems will “restart multiple times or becomes unresponsive with blue or green screens”.

The tech giant also revealed that the security feature BitLocker recovery can be triggered by this glitch.

Now, details of a temporary fix have emerged.

According to the Bleeping Computer, Microsoft have provided a way to get rid of the blue or green screen.

Users must reverse the update by using a feature called the Known Issue Rollback which can quickly fix a poorly performing device.

It does so by removing non-security updates.

If your system continues to reboot, or the BitLocker Automatic Repair feature pops up, or your USB and Bluetooth devices will no longer connect, this could an option.

Bleeping Computer also say that enterprise users will need to install the Windows 11 22H2 KB5043145 240904_041021 Known Issue Rollback Group Policy.

This is something Microsoft are keen to include in a future Windows update.

The tech giant added: “Once the update with the resolution is released, organizations will not need to install and configure this Group Policy to address this issue.”

It is important to note that this is not a repeat of the Crowdstrike meltdown.
