Kansas Lottery jackpot winner walks away with $2.6 million in cash

TOPEKA (KSNT) - An anonymous winner has claimed more than $2.6 million after hitting a jackpot lottery prize in northeast Kansas.

27 News reached out to Kansas Lottery spokesman Cory Thone about a recent Kansas Super Cash jackpot prize of $3.7 million that was hit in late September. The winner struck the jackpot prize with the numbers 8-14-27-28-29 and a “Super Cash Ball” of 22. The odds of hitting this jackpot are one in 2,517,200.

The Kansas Lottery confirms the prize did not take long for the winner to claim. The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed the cash in a single lump sum amounting to a little more than $2.6 million after state and federal taxes.

The lucky ticket was sold at Merigold Liquor in Shawnee. Due to the size of the jackpot prize, this business is eligible for a $1,000 selling bonus from the Kansas Lottery.

People are reminded to check their tickets to see if they won something as even those who don't hit the jackpot prize may still be able to claim smaller amounts of cash. You can learn more about lottery games to play in Kansas by clicking here.
