Cooler air arrives in time for beginning of October

Central Ohio Weather and Radar

A cold front has pushed east of the Ohio Valley, allowing for cooler, drier air to return, with sunshine and seasonable weather to round out the rest of the week.

High pressure will build in from the west, creating a northwesterly flow of cool air. Temperatures will be mainly in the 60s this afternoon and then fall into the 40s overnight in a crisp fall pattern.

As the high-pressure area shifts east, temperatures will moderate Thursday and Friday. A weak cold front will come through just before the weekend, but a lack of moisture will result only in some patchy clouds. The weather for the OSU-Iowa game will be sunny and pleasant, in the 70s.

Sunday will be warmer, as winds turn southwesterly ahead of low pressure moving through the northern Great Lakes. A trailing cold front will bring some showers toward evening, Behind this stronger cold front, cool weather will follow early next week.
