Middle East on Med9 ministers’ agenda in Nicosia
The Middle East crisis and the EU’s new institutional cycle are on the agenda of the Med9 ministerial meeting, to kick off at 9.30am at the new Nicosia town hall.
Med9 ministers and deputy ministers for European affairs of the nine Mediterranean countries of the EU – Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain – will also look into issues such as migration, the Multiannual Financial Framework and the EU’s green and digital transition.
Cyprus’ Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna said the crisis in the region would be discussed both on Thursday and next week on a Med9 heads of state level.
The ministerial meeting is being held in the framework of Cyprus’ Med9 presidency for 2024 and is preparatory in nature for the Med9 summit on October 11 in Paphos.
