PlayStation is removing one of its best games from online storefronts after shocking recent announcement

OVER the last few months, PlayStation and Sony have been a story of ups and downs, pleasing and disappointing fans in equal measure.

The best example is the PS5 Pro, which shocked people with the price, before they announced the much sought-after 30th anniversary PS5 Pro bundle.

Then, once the consoles went on sale, the PS5 Pro bundles were immediately bought up by resellers, and consoles flooded the online marketplaces with prices up to £10k.

However, the mishandling of the PS5 Pro reveal isn’t the only thing that has been pleasing and disappointing fans in equal measure.

During September’s State of Play, PlayStation announced that there would be a remaster for one of its most popular exclusive series.

The Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster is designed to bring the series’ original game up to the standard of the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West.

People were skeptical about whether Zero Dawn needed the upgrades, but were pleased to see a low upgrade price.

Owners of the original game would be able to upgrade to the remaster for just £10/$10, making it reasonably priced.

However, people soon noticed that the original game’s price went up on the PlayStation Store.

The original PS4 version of Horizon Zero Dawn increased in price from £15.99/$19.99 to £34.99/$39.99 following the announcement.

If you purchased the game before the remaster was announced, you would have been able to grab the remaster for a total of £25.99/$29.99.

Now, you will have to pay the increased price of £39.99/$49.99 for the remaster, at least via the PlayStation Store.

However, there were still other ways to purchase the game, such as by buying physical copies, or the PC version for the lower price.

Eagle-eyed fans have now noticed that Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition has disappeared from one of the main online PC storefronts, Epic Games Store.

Epic Games, Sony, and Guerilla Games have not commented on its removal at the time of publishing.

Just like with PlayStation, those who previously owned Horizon Zero Dawn on PC will still be able to pick up the upgrade for £10/$10.

Horizon Zero Dawn was given out free to PlayStation players during the Covid pandemic, and these owners will also be able to upgrade to the remaster at the lower price.

However, copies of the game claimed via PS Plus won’t be included in the offer.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to launch on PS5 and PC via EGS, GOG, and Steam on October 31, 2024.
