'Coming to a Kamala Harris ad near you!' Trump mocked for Melania's 'October surprise'

The former first lady's "October surprise" has Donald Trump's critics rolling in the proverbial aisles — and suggesting a problematic endorsement is imminent.

Melania Trump on Thursday morning doubled down on her pro-abortion position in a new X ad promoting her new eponymous memoir slated for release on Oct. 8.

"Individual freedom is a fundamental principal that I safeguard," Melania Trump states. "There is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess at birth...What does 'my body, my choice' really mean?"

Melania Trump's views stand in stark contrast to the position of her husband, the Republican presidential nominee, and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), both of whom have pushed a national abortion ban — even if they now deny it.

The former first lady's commitment to her pro-abortion stance, first revealed Wednesday night, spurred much mockery the following morning with one continuous theme.

"Melania Trump," quipped former Trump Administration staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin, "coming to a Kamala Harris ad near you!"

Griffin was not the only conservative to make the joke that Melania would soon throw support behind the vice president and Democratic presidential nominee, who has pledged to pass federal legislation to restore a woman's right to obtain an abortion.

"Is Melania voting for Vice President Harris?" the political group Republicans Against Trump asked.

"She's married to a man who thinks he owns the body of every woman in America," added Richard Painter, chief White House ethics lawyer to former President George W. Bush. "Bet she can't wait to go vote for [Harris]."

Constitutional law professor Anthony Michael Kreis joked that after Melania declared her stance on abortion, she'd be willing to support his efforts in a key swing state.

"Melania," Kreis asked, "you want to join an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of Georgia with me?"

Paste Magazine contributor Mara Davis suggested a "Melania for Kamala" slogan would be forthcoming.

Essayist Jennifer Taylor-Skinner took a more serious tone and suggested Melania Trump's announcement lacked credibility.

"I've heard a lot of takes on Melania's 'October Surprise' pro-abortion reveal: She's being insincere and strategic vs. she's now being her true self, which means divorce is imminent," Taylor-Skinner wrote. "Ultimately, I don't care, because whatever she has to say, she's years too late. She has no credibility on the left, and she's nearly invisible to the right."

Comedian John Fugelsang joined Taylor-Skinner in her skepticism and hinted a ghost writer was behind the memoir reveal, asking, "Has Melania Trump been told that she says this in her new book?"
