Moose Goes Swimming in Family Pool in Viral Video

A New Hampshire homeowner got quite a surprise when they found a special guest swimming in their pool on Oct. 3.

According to a statement from the Bedford Police Department, authorities were called to a home after a moose was spotted in a residential pool early this morning. They arrived soon afterward around 8:45 a.m. local time to assess the situation.

Video taken by police shows the crew removing the pool covering over the water and finding a moose standing underneath. Once it was discovered, the antlered animal made its way over to the shallow end of the pool and got out like a child being told playtime is over, trotting off into some trees next to the home.

Luckily, no people or animals were hurt in the operation, according to Bedford police chief Daniel Douidi. Still, that doesn't mean you should confront one of these animals yourself if you find them on your property.

"I want to remind residents that moose can be very dangerous animals due to their size, and we appreciate that residents called us this morning to assist with this situation," Douidi said. “We’re pleased that no people or animals were harmed in this incident."

If you find yourself in one of these animal's paths at home, it's probably best to leave removal efforts to the professionals.
