‘What We Do in the Shadows’ wakes the dead with new final season trailer [Watch]
“What We Do in the Shadows,” FX’s comedy series about vampires in Staten Island, is ending with Season 6, which…sucks. But this new trailer will get your blood pumping.
Vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) all return for the final season, along with their former familiar and current human friend, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) and their vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, The Guide (Kristen Schaal). The new trailer gives fans a good look at a new character — the vampires’ other roommate, Jerry (“A.P. Bio” creator Mike O’Brien), who they forgot to wake up after he went down for a nap 50 years ago. His return forces Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja to evaluate what they’ve been doing for the past half-century, and if they’re honest with themselves, things are not great. “Not one goal accomplished, not one dream pursued, not one part of the New World conquered (except for their street and part of Ashley Street),” as FX puts it.
“In the sixth and final season of the Emmy-nominated comedy, Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, Colin and Guillermo will enter the workforce, visit New Hampshire, go to a human dinner party, fête The Baron and conjure a demon — all while trying to find their place and their purpose in this crazy, mixed-up world,” reads FX’s official Season 6 synopsis.
“What We Do in the Shadows” was created by Jemaine Clement. Executive producers include Paul Simms, Clement, Sam Johnson, Sarah Naftalis, Yana Gorskaya, Kyle Newacheck, Taika Waititi, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush.
The series has been nominated for 29 Emmys throughout its run, including nominations for Best Comedy Series in 2020, 2022, and 2024. It’s won one, for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes in 2022.
