First Look at revamped Big Brother house after ‘trippy’ makeover – but fans brand it an ‘eyesore’

ITV has given fans a first look at the revamped Big Brother house after its ‘trippy’ makeover – but they’re already branding it an ‘eyesore’.

Host Will Best, 39, revealed the huge changes on This Morning today as he entered the famous property for the first time following its revamp.

And this year’s space is even more vibrant than before, with contestants entering via a neon orange and yellow staircase splashed with bold paint designs.

The corridor leading to the iconic diary room is now decked out with bright neon lights – with much of the property featuring funky gold accents, lush plants and mustard yellow walls.

A bold orange and red palette has been chosen for the living room, complete with a yellow sofa for the new housemates to get to know one another

Another glimpse of the house showed off the dining room, featuring a long pink marble-style table, perfect for housemates to enjoy their meals together.

Will brought cameras along with him as he toured the kitchen.

In his narration, he asked: “Is it aqua marine? Is it turquoise? I don’t know. It’s giving slight underwater vibes, it’s giving Avatar.

“Is it giving secret passages? You’ve got to be careful in the Big Brother house as anything can be a secret passage,” the presenter teased.

Will went on to reveal the new hot tub in the garden, joking that producers had “burnt” it after boyfriends Henry Southan and Jordan Sangha‘s steamy scenes last year.

Viewers were quick to jump on social media and share their thoughts on the new house, admitting they weren’t so keen.

One wrote on X: “While the house is the same layout, I’m just happy that it has been given new paint to go with the theme such as paint dripping on the walls. Much better than last year got to say.”

Another added: “The house is an eyesore. ITV we expected better!” with a third fuming: “It looks horrendous.”

Someone else asked: “Did they really just give the ‘new’ BB house a paint job and call it a day?”

A fourth posted: “I know we’ve only seen the kitchen and stairs but I must say I’m very underwhelmed by ITV’s efforts so far with the house. Each house should have a unique feel and vibe for new HMs… I’m not getting that at all this year.”

When the show began at the turn of the century, it was famously located at 3 Mills Studios in Bow, London for one year.

Big Brother moved to Elstree Studios in 2001, but the house was eventually demolished after the final series in 2018.

Filming now takes place at Garden Studios, which is a newly-built studio in West London.

In line with the new logo, the property has been given a colourful makeover.

The renovations made to the property include a huge new extension to expand the garden area that showcases a luxury hot tub area.

But that’s not the only thing set to change in the property.

The producers have hinted that there will be new tougher tasks to look forward to in the new series.

Speaking to The Sun, Will previously shared his excitement about the upcoming tasks, stating: “I’m excited about the tasks, I think the tasks this year, maybe some learning not learning as that makes it sound like there were things that could have been better as the tasks were phenomenal last series.”

He said “But I’ve been speaking to a few members of the team and I think they’ve raised the bar even further this series,” and added that the tasks have been “taken up a notch.”

When the Big Brother house opened its doors in 2023, the MailOnline reported that the new space boasts all the “latest production technologies” and “versatile staging”.

A source said: “Garden Studios is the ideal location for filming the new Big Brother series.

“Not only is it London-based but it’s only been open for a year and promises the highest standard of production and also a commitment to sustainability.”

They added: “Elstree Studios became famous for Big Brother and its live studio audience and bosses are hoping Garden Studios will grow to be as loved as the show’s first iconic home.”

The new location was first revealed in the first episode of BB’s return in 2023.

AJ Odudu and Will will host the live launch on Sunday, October 6th on ITV2 and ITVX.

It marks a change from the Big Brother 2023 launch, which was completely pre-recorded.

Big Brother: Live Launch, Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
