I’m a pet sitter but there’s two breeds I can’t wait to get rid of each day – they’re stubborn and obnoxious
A DOG breed known for its stubborn behaviour has repeatedly left a pet sitter counting down the minutes until its owner returns.
She confessed the breed isn’t the only canine that’s been a terror to look after.

She vowed to “take any dog” offered on Rover, which is an app for sitters and walkers to connect with pet owners.
However, there are several canines that she “can’t wait” for their stay to be over.
“Dumb overactive Goldens and Labs,” she said on Reddit.
“I get you are cute. I get you are the family dog, but good lord are dumb overactive goldens and labs annoying and hairy.
“My first ever client was an 18-month-old giant golden doodle that terrorized my toddler incessantly.
“Longest 3 days of our lives.”
She revealed huskies topped her list of the worst breeds because of their high energy.
“I just don’t have the internal athleticism to keep them entertained and the one husky duo we watched were so stubborn and obnoxious,” she said.
“The 2nd we watched was better behaved but only treat motivated so she learned she could be ‘bad’ so that I would bribe her into goodness with a treat.”
Many people upvoted the mum’s comment and huskies were mentioned by other pet sitters in the discussion.
“You got 2 of my top 3, just take out the doodle and instead I’d say shepherd lol,” one person said.
“I try to avoid small breeds to be honest,” another commented.
“It’s just my preference.
“I noticed that they can be a little bit demanding for attention and suffer from separation anxiety the most since people are always picking them up and carrying them and babying them.
“They struggle the most (to me) being boarded away from home.
“But besides that breeds, I try to definitely avoid are Bulldogs, Frenchies, beagles, huskies, and chihuahuas.
“Although I’m watching two beagles right now, they can be a pain at times.”
Foods you can't feed your dog
Barbara Hanly, doggie wellness expert and founder of Soopa – healthy, plant-based dog treats – revealed what human food your pup can’t eat.
- Chocolate: Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and can cause anything from an upset stomach to seizures, depending on how much is eaten.
- Grapes & Raisins: Even a small amount of grapes or raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs, which can lead to severe health problems or even death.
- Onions & Garlic: These can cause damage to your dog’s red blood cells, leading to anaemia. Even small quantities can have harmful effects over time.
- Avocado: Avocados contain persin, a substance that is toxic to dogs, leading to vomiting, diarrhoea, and more severe health issues in large quantities.
- Macadamia Nuts: These nuts can cause weakness, vomiting, tremors, and hyperthermia in dogs, even in small amounts. Best to avoid them completely!
A third pet sitter hinted that the challenging breeds are the ones most commonly available to sit.
“German shepherds, huskies, frenchies. Doodles too, if you can still make a living without them,” they said.
The complaints about huskies are arguably unsurprising as the Blue Cross has revealed they need at least two hours of exercise a day.
Experts recommended regularly taking the dog on a run or cycle to ensure that their needs are met.
Their ability to climb over or dig under fences means they need to be kept in a secure home.
Separation issues can also occur if arctic breeds are left alone for long periods.
