Luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce has redefined automotive extravagance with its creation, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, hailed as the world’s most expensive car, with an estimated price tag of USD 28 million (approximately Rs 232 crore). Drawing inspiration from classic yacht design, the Boat Tail exudes elegance and sophistication. Its standout feature is the unique rear deck, which includes a retractable parasol for luxurious al fresco dining, complemented by a retractable table and telescopic umbrella. The four-seater convertible also comes equipped with two refrigerators, one dedicated to storing champagne, making it the ultimate symbol of opulence and style.
The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail showcases a nautical aesthetic inspired by the J Class yachts of the 1920s and 1930s, while also reinterpreting the brand’s original 1910 Boat Tail car design. According to the Daily Mail, this masterpiece takes four years to craft by hand and comprises 1,813 bespoke parts, all designed and created from scratch. As noted by Tatler, the Boat Tail shares its chassis, engine, and underpinnings with the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
One of its standout features is the car deck, which opens in a sweeping butterfly motion, revealing a whimsical parasol. Each model is custom-built to the precise specifications of its owner, ensuring that no two cars are alike. This exceptional level of exclusivity solidifies the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail as a coveted symbol of wealth and prestige.
