Mohammed Shami Return delayed, Dismissed Indian Wicketkeeper returns to action in Bengal Team for Ranji Trophy

The return of Mohammed Shami to mainstream cricket might have to wait for a few more time as the pacer has not been included in the 19-member squad for the first two Ranji Trophy games for Bengal. Senior wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has returned to the game as he will be wearing the Bengal colours this season.

Shami is still in the National Cricket Academy, waiting for his recovery from his ankle injury. A team member from Bengal told the telegraph, “We came to know that he (Shami) has again sustained some niggle. So, he couldn’t be considered for these matches.

Shami has not been active in any form of cricket since the finals of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, though he is expected to return very soon. According to a lot of reports, Shami was ruled out of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
