He shared: “Oh gosh, I’ve been so busy.
“I haven’t been able to get across the plot but I do believe it’s closely related to the book.”
However, Ant admitted: “But I’ve not read the book.”
The latest Bridget Jones film – subtitled Mad About the Boy, sees Renee reprise the title role once again.
It is due to release in February 2025, nine years after the previous instalment, Bridget Jones’ Baby.
The latest edition will follow the third book in the series by Helen Fielding.
It tracks the unlucky-in-love character as she deals with the death of her beloved Mark Darcy (who is played by Colin Firth in the films).
Now, she has to navigate life without him as she raises their two children.
Hugh Grant returns to play philandering Daniel Cleaver, despite the character having been presumed dead.
In addition, The White Lotus star Leo Woodall joins the cast as Bridget’s new, younger love interest.
A source previously told The Sun: “Bridget is going to be a real cougar in the new film and she’ll be seen starting a relationship with a much younger character played by Leo.
“He was thrilled about landing the part and will have a major role as her love interest in Mad About The Boy.
“Bridget is a single mum trying to navigate a new world of social media and dating apps after Mark’s death, so she’s definitely going to end up in a pickle.
“Hugh Grant is back as Daniel Cleaver, so there will be a love triangle between Bridget’s older flame and this much younger new man.”
