Rs 2232 crore for just 36 meters land! World’s most expensive plot sold in this place; answer will SHOCK you
Land rates have skyrocketed in India in recent times with land investments being one of the most lucrative ways to make enormous profits, at times even doubling your initial investment in just a few years. However, notwithstanding the soaring land prices, a tiny plot of land in a Alwar, Rajasthan, measuring just 36 meters, was sold for a mind-boggling amount of Rs 2,232 crore during an auction.
According to reports, a small piece of land measuring a mere 36 meters, was auctioned at 62 crores per square meter, taking its total price to Rs 2,232 crore. Commercial plots were auctioned in Rajasthan’s Alwar district under the Aravali Vihar Yojana of the state Housing Board, where bids for a 120 meter plot started at Rs 82 lakh per square meter, costing any potential buyer a whopping Rs 98.40 crore.
You may think this is wild, but the price of the above plot seems almost ‘normal’ when compared to another piece of land measuring just 36 meters, for which bids started at a preposterous Rs 62 crore per square, taking its price to Rs 2,232 crore.
As per reports, the Rajasthan Housing Board auctioned 16 plots of land from October 3-5 in Alwar district. The base price of seven plots, each measuring 120 meters, and while six plots of 36 meters, was set at Rs 55,000 per square meter, while another 798 meter plot was set at Rs 50,000 per square meter.
However, the amounts offered for these pieces of land shocked everyone when the bids started pouring in. As many as 216 bidders had deposited security amount for the plot and on the first day of auction, bids started going into crores as the land is located in place where commercial opportunities are expected to soar in the future.
Additionally, when announcing the base prices, officials had “mistakenly” added two extra zeros in front of the intended amount, which they later clarified happened due to “human error”.
