High pressure means blue skies for Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Beautiful blue skies are on the way again Sunday from the Oregon Coast to the Cascades, as an area of high pressure continues to build over the area.

Expect only brief morning fog and low clouds along the coast and perhaps a few in the Willamette Valley as well. Temperatures should warm into the 60s around noon and we will top out in the mid-70s Sunday afternoon under plenty of sunshine and light wind.

This will be a great day to get outside, take a hike or get some exercise. In fact, most of the next week will remain dry with Monday being the warmest day, in the low 80s.

In my opinion this is near-perfect fall weather for the first full week of October.

The next chance of scattered rain showers will not arrive until mid-week. Until then, enjoy this great fall weather along with crisp cool nights.
