Razorbacks To Play at Prestigious Maidstone Club for Hamptons Intercollegiate

FAYETTEVILLE – The #23 Arkansas men’s golf team returns to action Monday (Oct. 7) at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, played at the prestigious Maidstone Club in East Hampton, N.Y., and hosted by Loyola (Md.).

The 12-team field features five of the nation’s top 35 teams, including #3 Virginia, #10 Florida State, #12 Ole Miss, #23 Arkansas and #35 Wake Forest. Also competing are Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Loyola (Md.), Penn, Princeton and Yale.

For the third tournament of the season, the Razorbacks will send its third different lineup to the Hamptons. Three of the five Razorbacks are coming off a top 20 finish at last week’s Blessings Collegiate Invitational.

Freshman Erich Fortlage, who played as an individual at the BCI, finished fifth with rounds of 75-79-72 for a 1-over-par 217. John Daly II carded an even-par final round at the BCI to secure a T12 finish and his seventh career top-20 results in 10 career events played. Freshman Gerardo Gomez used a second-round 71 to produce a T18 finish at the BCI.

Thomas Curry, like Daly, is coming off a solid final round at the BCI, shooting 73, and will look to carry that momentum to the Hamptons. The Razorback contingent will be rounded out by Mark Stockdale, who shot a final-round 72 at the BCI, and Pablo Garcia Terol, who will be playing as an individual.
