King Charles Just Broke a Decades-Long Habit of Avoiding This ‘Luxury’
It seems like King Charles III has been showing a change in heart on quite a few things as of late.
After years of tension with Prince Harry, King Charles reportedly wants to form a deeper relationship with his two grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. He also left the public pleasantly surprised by ditching royal protocol and greeting the New Zealand women’s rugby team with a massive group hug instead of the usual curtsey or bow. And now, King Charles has officially broken a lifelong habit of skipping lunch.
He has always been vocal about his healthy diet, consisting primary of organic produce. Just before becoming king in September 2022, after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, he emphasized the importance of organic farming. He had farmed organically at Home Farm near his Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire up until 2020, in anticipation of more royal duties.
King Charles has also been known to lead a disciplined lifestyle, one that previously included skipping lunch, once describing it as “a luxury” he couldn’t afford with his packed schedule.
He has since had to reevaluate his stance on lunch, thanks to the insistence of his medical team and wife, Queen Camilla. He now eats half an avocado mid-day to keep his strength up.
“With some reluctance, he now has something to eat at lunchtime – a snack, really. He now eats half an avocado to sustain him through the day. It’s important, particularly if you have got an illness,” a source told Daily Mail.
While some of us might not consider half an avocado an entire meal, it seems good that he is at least warming up to the idea of it.
