'Daddy issues': Ex-GOP insider says Trump and his allies need 'group therapy session'
Donald Trump, his pick for the GOP vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance, and X owner Elon Musk all have "daddy issues and mommy issues" that they are taking out on the American public, Tara Setmayer, a senior advisor for anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project and a former Republican congressional staffer, said on Sunday.
Setmayer, part of the conservative collective formed in 2019 with the agenda to defeat Trump at the ballot box and to "ensure Trumpism failed alongside him," appeared on MSNBC over the weekend.
The show's host, Ayman Mohyeldin, asked Setmayer about how Republicans used to be concerned about tech companies helping politicians, but now Musk is going all-out for Trump.

"This is how faith in democracy and free and fair elections and free flow of information is tainted," she said. "Because [Musk] has such influence."
She then added, "You have Elon Musk who has daddy issues and mommy issues. His mother is a conspiracy theory kook, also. You have Trump with daddy issues and J.D. Vance with mommy issues."
"They need to have a group therapy session and work it all out, and stop holding the rest of us hostage because they haven't worked out their childhood traumas," she further suggested.
