PM Modi to visit Maldives next year: External Affairs Ministry

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maldives next year. This follows the Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu's visit to India for strengthening bilateral ties. Relations had been strained due to Muizzu's pro-China stance but have since improved. India offers economic support to Maldives, which includes a USD 50 million Treasury Bill rollover and a currency swap agreement.
