Chanel West Coast was Miami-bound in a post she made to her Instagram. Accompanied by the caption “Miami nights Fave 1/2?,” the star shared snapshots of her outfit for her night out in the city.
The television personality chose to make a statement in a pair of towering Gucci platform sandals. Retailing for $1,190 via Net-A-Porter, the Lady style featured black leather uppers and rounded open toes adorned with gold horsebit detailing, a design staple for the Italian designer brand. Adjustable buckle fastens gave way to thin ankle straps that secured the style in place, while 3.5-inch block heels added height and drama.
Taylor Swift recently wore the same pair in a different color during an outing with boyfriend Travis Kelce at the 2024 US Open.
Gucci features a wide range of horsebit-inspired styles. The motif was brought to life back in 1953 by Guccio Gucci’s sons, Aldo, Rodolfo and Vasco, paying homage to their late father’s love of the equestrian world.
The horsebit is used as both a functional clasp and a stylish design element in many of Gucci’s footwear and accessory creations. The most famous example of the horsebit’s usage is in the iconic Gucci Horsebit loafer, which was enshrined in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection in 1985. The Lady silhouette can also be purchased in a stark white if black is too abrasive.
Going dressy, Coast donned a form-fitted taupe minidress. The garment featured a strappy bodice and a corsetted waist. On the accessories front, the rapper sported an array of jewelry, paired with a black Chanel shoulder bag featuring a chain strap, gold hardware and a quilted texture.
Chanel West Coast’s shoe style is edgy and wide-ranging. On the red carpet, the musician often opts for metallic, embellished and colorful stiletto and platform-soled sandals, often from brands including Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana and Versace. Off-duty, she can also be seen in flat sandals and boots from Chanel and The Attico, as well as a large collection of Nike sneakers.
