Watch Andy Carroll score twice in a ‘PARK’ and celebrate wildly as he tears up fourth tier of French football
ANDY CARROLL continued his fine start to life as a Bordeaux player by scoring TWO goals to clinch victory inside a tiny stadium that has been compared to a park.
The former England striker, 35, joined the struggling French side last month and already has four goals in two matches.
Bordeaux are playing in the fourth tier after suffering a double administrative relegation amid a financial crisis.
Ex-Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham man Carroll is reportedly earning just £750 per week and recently revealed it is COSTING him money to play for the club.
Yet the lack of economic incentive does not appear to be hampering his performances on the pitch.
The forward, who had his contract with Ligue 2 side Amiens ripped up three weeks ago, scored a brace on his debut to salvage a 2-2 draw.
And he made it back-to-back braces on Saturday with another two goals in a 2-1 victory away at Olympique Saumur.
The first came in the 34th minute as Carroll climbed to head home from a corner, before he celebrated wildly with the small crowd of travelling fans.
Saumur equalised with 17 minutes remaining, before Carroll bagged the winner late on to further endear himself to Bordeaux supporters.
Yet many on social media could not get over just how amateur the ground looked – particularly given it was playing host to a former international striker.
