H-E-B taps into 'tap-to-pay' services
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Digital tap-to-pay services will soon be available at H-E-B locations across Texas.
Starting Monday, San Antonio H-E-B stores will begin rolling out digital tap-to-pay services for customers.
H-E-B said it will take about a week for all San Antonio stores to launch these services. Then the rollout will expand to all Texas stores, including the Mi Tienda locations in Houston.
H-E-B expects all Texas locations to offer tap-to-pay by the end of the month.
The tap-to-pay services include Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. Customers will also be able to tap their debit or credit cards with tap-to-pay features.
“At H-E-B, we’re always exploring a broad range of technologies to enhance how customers shop and pay for products,” said Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B group vice president of marketing and payments, in a media release.
H-E-B said this is amongst the most frequently requested services it has received from customers, and it is excited to finally offer it in all stores.
