Indian team aiming for another T20I series victory; Bangladesh in hopes of turnaround
Indian team is currently so dominating that Bangladesh is admitted to be clueless on how to match the ‘skills and mentality’ of the Men In Blue.
The flow is not expected to change much as the two teams face each other in the 2nd T20I on Wednesday, as the young players of the home team prove to be something to be worrying for the visitors.
Bangladesh have not been much of a brave opponent that they are called out to be, whereas India have turned out to be as their usual predatory self that loves to intimidate others in home grounds.
One man who has made a strong statement in the game on Sunday was Sanju Samson. It has been confirmed by Suryakumar Yadav that as Sanju has been in and out of the national team since his debut in 2015, his lack in consistency has been a major factor.
In the opening match in Gwalior, Sanju, who usually plays in middle order came in with a new role of the opener and hit some beautiful shots in his game of 19-ball 29, which showed his ability to play freely in the powerplay. This could, however, not be said likewise for the other opener Abhishek Sharma, who ran himself out.
Both Sanju and Sharma will be looking to prove that they can go beyond more cameos as they will look to take this opportunity here, and get a big score on Wednesday.
The visitors, on the other hand, will have to regroup quickly if they want to make a turn and stay alive in the three-match series. Even though they have gone almost every time with the same side when they fielded at the World Cup earlier this year, Bangladesh have yet not been able to understand the T20 format.
“I wouldn’t say we played badly. We are a better team than this. We haven’t done well in this format for a long time, but I don’t believe we are such a bad team,” Najmul Hossain Shanto said in Gwalior.
Bangladesh bowlers possess the ability to spice things up, but against India’s strong lineup they might need plenty of runs on board.
