Six children injured after fairground ride collapses
Footage has emerged of the aftermath of a collapsed fairground ride which injured six children.
The ride was seen toppled on its side with several of its chairs littered on the ground around it after it tipped over as fairgoers were enjoying a ride in Dingbian County, China.
Witnesses reported seeing three people crouching on the ground holding their heads.
Lights from the ride continued to flash brightly even after the structure seemingly collapsed.
At least six children are believed to have been on the carousel when the accident happened.
A&E staff at Dingbian County Central Hospital confirmed the arrival of several injured patients on after the incident on September 28.
Local officials said all the injuries sustained were minor and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Earlier this year, a man and a woman were rushed to hospital after a funfair ride at a London festival collapsed.
The Metropolitan Police said the pair, both in their 40s, suffered critical injuries at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park this June.
Fairgoers told MailOnline that a ride ‘failed’, which sent people ‘flying through the air’.
One told the tabloid: ‘It was horrific. The screams were terrible. Four people flew off and went through the air.
‘It was like a horror movie.’
A second eyewitness said: ‘People were running towards us and crying and screaming.
‘Saw a lady with blood streaming down her face. She had paramedics carrying her off the ride.’
