KORFF BIG ON-TRACK WINNER DURING FALL EUROFEST

Lincoln Park’s Elroy Korff was the big winner on the track during Sunday’s 18th annual Fall Eurofest presented by Latimore Racing Engines at US 131 Motorsports Park.

Korf claimed the $600 winner’s purse in the combined Super Pro/Pro bracket and then added another $100 in the Bren and Jerry’s Nice Dream Challenge in which he forced Street winner Philip McClish of Willard, Ohio, into a narrow breakout foul (11.395 seconds against an 11.400 target).

McClish bested Pullman’s Jessica Matthes to win the $300 top prize in Street but Matthes went on to win the second of the Bren and Jerry’s challenge matches against Super Pro/Pro runner-up Ahmad Manawi of Mount Pleasant.

In addition to the on-track competition which was open to all vehicles with a European pedigree, the event included a beautiful car show presented by German Auto Service, LTD, a swap meet and other activities celebrating the European car culture.

PRO/SUPER PRO – Elroy Korff, Lincoln Park, .226, 7.853 on a 7.700, 89.37 mph, def. Ahmad Manawi, Mount Pleasant, .958, 8.275 breakout foul on 8.400, 88.51 mph.  Semifinalists – Dave Leis, Darlington, PA, and Bren Hartman, Battle Creek.

STREET – Philip McClish, Willard, OH, .077, 11.557 on an 11.400, 58.94 mph, def. Jessica Matthes, Pullman, .321, 11.203 breakout foul in an 11.300, 68.02 mph.  Semifinalist – Troy McNair, Mansfield.

BREN AND JERRY’S NICE DREAM CHALLENGE

Super Pro/Pro winner versus Street winner – Elroy Korff, .041, 7.778 on a 7.770, 89.99 mph, def. Philip McClish, .254, 11.395 breakout foul on an 11.400, 62.60 mph.

Super Pro/Pro runner-up vs. Street runner-up – Jessica Matthes, .387, 12.079 on an 11.200, 63.26 mph, def. Ahmad Manawi, no time posted.
