‘Can’t stand him’ rage Emmerdale fans as they demand character is axed after bombshell sex confession
EMMERDALE viewers are enraged about the latest plot involving Arthur Thomas and his alleged ‘sexploits’.
Fans watched in disbelief on Monday, as 17-year-old Arthur (played by Alfie Clarke) bragged to April about his ‘sexually prowess’.
He had April believe that he had slept with older man John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnsworth).
His mum Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) leapt to his defence, as she confronted John in the Woolpack.
He, of course, denied the allegations, saying Arthur was too young for him.
But it turned out after Nicola had a heart-to-heart with Arthur, it was all lies and he hadn’t slept with John after all.
He confessed that April had assumed it, but he hadn’t put her straight because he didn’t want anyone to ‘think he was a child’.
Nicola encouraged the teenager to apologise to John, who then forgave Arthur.
However, his mother was still very angry at him and their relationship became strained.
After the episode, fans took to social media to air their outrage at the plot and the character.
One Emmerdale fan took to X, formerly Twitter, to say: “This kid Arthur, is getting on my nerves.”
Another raged: “Finally Arthur tells the truth! Idiot”
A third was incredulous saying: “…not in a million years that Arthur would do something like this? really Laurel? the same Arthur who used to bully Archie?”
The storyline got people talking about how Arthur and other characters had changed for the worse.
One fumed: “Arthur & Amelia were lovely youngsters and the script writers have changed their characters into nasty teenagers.
Another said: “Why do they do that to the kids?? They go away as cherubs, then return as utter ****. Samson, Amelia, Gobby to name a few.”

However, because of a mix-up at the hospital, he was initially believed to be the son of Greg and Melanie Doland. In 2022, Arthur came out as gay to his family and friends.
