‘A Complete Unknown’ trailer: Timothée Chalamet goes electric as Bob Dylan

If you didn’t get enough of Timothée Chalamet‘s voice in the “A Complete Unknown” teaser, fear not. The Oscar nominee croons multiple tunes in the new trailer for the Bob Dylan biopic.

The trailer, which dropped Tuesday, chronicles the rise of Dylan (Chalamet) as he moves to New York from Minnesota in the ’60s as a teen. Per the logline, the film culminates in the icon’s “groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.” You can hear Chalamet singing such Dylan tracks as “Girl From the North Country” and “Like a Rolling Stone.”

The film comes from James Mangold, who adapted the screenplay with Jay Cocks from Elijah Wald‘s 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric!” The cast includes Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo (a fictionalized version of Dylan’s then-girlfriend Suze Rotolo), Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, and Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie.

“A Complete Unknown” filmed earlier this year and will be released on Christmas Day via Searchlight Pictures as one of the last Oscar hopefuls of the season. The film is currently in 10th place in the Best Picture odds, while Chalamet, who’s seeking his second Oscar bid, is in fourth place in the Best Actor odds.
