You can now buy the ‘world’s first air fryer pizza’ in Tesco & people are saying they are perfect for lazy cooks

AIR fryers are all the rage these days – but it can be frustrating if your food doesn’t fit inside.

While many people are forced to cut up their pizzas in order to squeeze them in, shoppers have spotted a new brand in Tesco specifically designed to solve the issue.

Slicey’s pizza claims to be the “world’s first air fryer pizza slice” that cooks in just eight minutes.

It comes in three flavours, Margherita, Pepperoni and Diavola, and fits “perfectly” inside your machine.

Food lovers have been excited to see the new offering in their local stores, with others desperate to try it for themselves.

One said: “Brilliant, I’m too lazy to cook it.”

Another added: “Actually quite nice tbf.”

A third commented: “Got it today.”

However, one person pointed out: “Just cut a pizza to fit.”

Slicey’s is made from a sourdough base that is double fermented at two different temperatures to ensure the texture cooks evenly, according to the brand.

The company shared: “Introducing Slicey, the world’s first air fryer pizza slice!

“Get ready to enjoy a delicious slice of pizza that’s ready in just 8 minutes.

“Perfect for a quick snack or a late-night treat, Slicey is now available in select retailers nationwide

“Game-changing snack—grab yours today and elevate your pizza game!”

They added: “Gone are the days of preheating your oven and waiting over 20 minutes to enjoy a pizza at home.”

Each slice is said to be made from all natural ingredients, containing up to 15g of protein at just 440 kcals.

The pizza is being sold in Tesco – but sadly only in Ireland right now

The quick treat could be perfect for busy work-from-home lunchtimes and after school snacking.

The pizza is currently being sold in Ireland but it could expand further afield, so keep a look out in your nearest Tesco store.

The company was founded by entrepreneur Niall McGrath, who first embarked upon the Slicey journey following a family holiday in Italy where his five-year-old son drew a pizza slice character and called him Slicey, encouraging his father to make ‘Slicey’ pizzas.

He travelled throughout Italy sampling pizzas and spent nine months in a test kitchen outside of Rome, creating sample after sample for Slicey.

How to save money on pizza

TAKEAWAY pizzas taste great but they can hit you hard on your wallet. Here are some tips on how to save on pizza:

Cashback websites – TopCashback and Quidco will pay you to order your pizza through them. They’re paid by retailers for every click that comes to their website from the cashback site, which eventually trickles down to you. So you’ll get cashback on orders placed through them.

Discount codes – Check sites like VoucherCodes for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.

Make you own topping – One savvy customer noticed that Domino’s charges up to 70p MORE for pizzas on its menu compared to ordering the same one through the “create your own” option. It’s worth trying out to see if it makes a difference before you place your next order.

Buy it from the shops – It might not taste exactly the same but you’ll save the most money by picking up your favourite pizza from your local supermarket. Some Asda stores sell freshly made ones from the pizza counter where prices start at £2.
