98 Camry 2.2l no start when cold but cranks over
My daughter's 98 Camry drove fine one day, the next morning when she goes to start it, it would start for 3 to 5 seconds and shut off. After trying to start it several more times it would quit run for those few seconds and just crank. My first thought was possible fuel pump. I pulled the seat out and had her crank it while I went to listen to the pump, but it just started and ran just fine. I could shut it off and started again I drove it around with no problems. The next morning I try to start it and it would not start. I was thinking maybe the fuel pump was faulty and I replaced that. It did not change anything. After about 30 minutes of trying I got it to start again I was able to drive the car back to my house so I can work on it and it would start and drive just fine all day. This morning, won't start again just cranks over. I tried unplugging the map sensor to see if that would change anything. And I removed the intake hose and sprayed cleaner on the little port In front of the air valve to see if that would fix anything.
