Arrowhead ranked as best stadium in national survey

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Arrowhead Stadium is one of the most iconic venues in the NFL and fans apparently agree.

In a survey taken by USA Today, 10 stadiums were selected by a panel and voted as the best by readers for providing superior game experiences.

Arrowhead was voted as the best stadium and and having the best stadium foods.

Reasons for the high ranking included Kansas City's renowned tailgating experience that boasts some of the nation's best BBQ and the in-game atmosphere, where fans set the Guinness World Record in 2014 for loudest outdoor stadium at 142.2 decibels. The boisterous atmosphere has remained the same a decade later.

Arrowhead was also lauded for its autonomous stores and self-service kiosks that help cut down on the time you spend in line.

Menu options receiving the most notoriety included the elote nachos, foot-long hot dogs and numerous BBQ options like the Big Red Sandwich at Smoak BBQ and the Brisket Rangoon from Buck Tui BBQ.

Arrowhead was completed in 1972 and has consistently been one of the toughest places for opposing teams to play. The spotlight on the stadium has only increased with the Chiefs recent dominance over the NFL.

The 76,416-seat stadium last underwent renovations in 2010, but will undergo more updates in the near future in preparation of hosting the 2026 World Cup.
