As a shopping expert, one of my favorite things about kicking off the holiday season is finding (and recommending!) crazy gifts and gadgets I never imagined could exist but that I also can't imagine life without. 

Historically, Black Friday signaled the arrival of the holiday shopping season, but in recent years, Amazon has diligently worked to fill the otherwise slow shopping time period between back-to-school and Black Friday with deals that can't be ignored. Hence, we have another Prime Day going on now in October.
