Avoid the area: RCPD close Manhattan neighborhood after shooting

MANHATTAN (KSNT) - One person has been shot in Manhattan, the Riley County Police Department ask residents to avoid the area.

According to a social media post form RCPD, officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Yuma Street. Officers ask residents to avoid the 900 blocks of Yuma Street and Fort Riley Boulevard to work the scene.

Police believe this shooting was an isolated incident, and there is currently no danger to the public. If you have a child taking part in activities at Douglas Center, police ask that they follow the cones placed on the 900 block of Fort Riley Boulevard for pick-up.

The individual who was shot has taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. KSNT 27 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
