The Red Devils have endured a terrible start to the season[/caption]

Keane, 53, insisted that he ran out of patience after midfielder Christian Eriksen admitted that the Dutch outfit were more determined to win the game.

The result was one of many that ended in disappointment so far this season, as the club had endured its worst start to a Premier League campaign.

The Irishman launched a passionate rant at the current state of the club in which he slammed the lack of a team mentality.

He said on the Stick to Football podcast: “I think it was after the Twente game when players came out saying that they wanted it more, I gave up at that stage.

“If that is the noise coming out of the dressing room, then no wonder the manager is in trouble and no wonder they are not going to win football matches.

“But that is where Man United are, it is hit and miss. They are going to win matches, but they will lose plenty.

“I am not sure there is a team there. I would love to know what goes on in the training ground.

“Who is pushing each other? Who is helping the younger players? Are the senior players proper?

You can’t keep going back to Harry Maguire and Eriksen. They said they need recruitment, they made lots of changes.

“They got rid of Fred and [Scott] McTominay, they make changes.

“But now they have gone back to Maguire and Eriksen for the last few weeks.

Gary Neville slammed the team’s inability to score
Wayne Rooney pointed to the lack of leadership in the squad

“They were part of the problem. I am not just saying on their own, so if you think Maguire is the answer?

“The new lads need a chance, to play a couple of months and games to build relationships. The manager is stubborn, and he has to be a manager.

“To be United was always about being good people and characters and people who could play for the club.

“But I don’t see that now; I don’t recognise the club. A couple of months ago, new people came in, and they thought they would have the answers.

“But they have gone backwards. When we discuss Man United it is more like a business than a football club.

“A football club is about people and good people who turn up and put a shift in.

“What I see at Man United after stepping back a bit I am not sure I am seeing proper footballing people.

“It is more a business having board meetings, why can’t they have these meeting without anybody knowing about it.

“You can’t tell me they can’t find a nice little hotel in the Lakes or something, I’m serious.

“We know all this information; why is it public knowledge?”

Keane was not the only member of the group to slam the current state of affairs at the Red Devils.

Gary Neville explained why the team is not scoring goals and insisted that not enough players in the team have a record of being prolific.

He added: “I think it is really easy to explain.

“They are really poor at scoring from set-pieces, which is one big way of teams scoring goals.

“Secondly, do you have enough players in the team with a record of scoring goals?

“No, they don’t. They have Marcus Rashford, who, to be fair, had a couple of decent seasons, and Fernandes, who had a couple of decent seasons.

“And when you haven’t got that, you’re patterns of play are where you get chances.

“So when you don’t, you never know when to make a run into the box.

“So my point is these contribute to the lack of goals, not just bad form. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund don’t score goals.”

The retired defender also claimed that the club had tried to do good transfer business but had failed.

He argued: “We have brought players in who have good reputations and are well sought after, and everybody thought they were good signings.

“Not just Maguire, but twenty or thirty of these players and they have all been absolutely destroyed on the job.

“That is the thing that needs to stop.

“Even managers to be fair, I said before it has become a graveyard for really good people and players.”

Man United have not won a match since the 7-0 drubbing of Barnsley in the League Cup.

However, since that victory, the club endured a deflating 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney claimed that the loss was the worst he had seen at the historic stadium.

He claimed: “I was there at the Tottenham game, and it was as bad as I have seen at Old Trafford for a long time.”

Neville hit out at the performance as he labelled the performance as “disgusting” even before Bruno Fernandes was sent off.”

Keane added: “Are we supposed to be surprised? Because we are having the same conversation every couple of weeks.

“They are not good enough, they are too open, they don’t score enough goals.

“So what has happened in the last week? Is that the new norm now.

“Then there is pressure on the manager, he needs a result.”
